Personal Information
Sue is Designated Broker at RE/MAX Riverside, which she co-owns with her husband, Don Spann. She moved to Maine in 1983, and has been representing buyer and seller clients in midcoast Maine since 1984. She is a native of Virginia, grew up in Roanoke, VA, attended college at Longwood College in Farmville, VA, and graduated with a BS in Nursing from the University of Virginia.
She married Don, whom she met at UVA, in 1971. They have 2 children, Jeff and Kristen. Jeff is also a graduate of the University of Virginia, and attended law school at William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. He practices law in Philadelphia. Kristen is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire Whittemore School of Business, Durham, NH. She is an owner, instructor and trainer with Cater Stables in Bedford, NH. Kristen shares Sue's passion for American Saddlebred horses. The Spann family presently has 2 saddlebreds in training, as well as one Hackney roadster pony (Don's toy).
Cherishing the town in which she lives and chose to locate RE/MAX Riverside, Sue serves on a variety of municipal committees. She presently serves as vice-chair of the Topsham Developent, Inc. Board of Directors, the major community and economic development department in town. In addition, she is a member of the Topsham Transportation Study Committee and the Main Street Village Committee. She was recently appointed to the Local Redevelopment Authority for the Topsham Annex site connected with Naval Air Station Brunswick, which is scheduled for closure in approximately 4 years.
Sue is pleased to operate as a "team" with Lula Hansen. Together they represent a variety of homes and properties in this special part of Maine.
As well as being a broker and enjoying her "Team Spann" real estate practice, she also maintains a limited number of coastal summer properties.
