Sarah was born in Boothbay Harbor, grew up in Brunswick, and is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Bowdoin College, where she worked for 15 years. Sarah has strong family ties to the entire Mid-Coast area, from Bristol/Damariscotta/Boothbay to Bath/Brunswick/Topsham . Tom is a Chicago native who graduated with honors from the University of Chicago and later received an MBA in Finance form its Graduate School of Business. After years of summering on an island "Way Down East" at Lake Meddybemps, he finally moved to Maine permanently 26 years ago to work for L. L. Bean and later DeLorme Mapping, where he served as a Vice President for 10 years.
