Don Spann is an Associate Broker and the head of the Commercial Real Estate Division at RE/MAX Riverside, which he co-owns with his wife, Sue Spann. He moved to Maine in 1983, when he accepted a position in the Planning Department at Bath Iron Works, in Bath, Maine where he held numerous Management positions prior to his retirement in January 2005. He is a native of Louisiana, although he grew up in McLean, VA, and graduated with a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University Of Virginia where he also received his commission in the U.S. Navy.
He married Sue, whom he met at UVA, in 1971. They have 2 children, Jeff and Kristen. Jeff is also a graduate of the University of Virginia, and attended Law School at William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. He practices law in Philadelphia. Kristen is a graduate of the University Of New Hampshire Whittemore School Of Business, Durham, NH. She is an owner, instructor and trainer with Cater Stables in Bedford, NH. Kristen shares Sue's passion for American Saddlebred horses. The Spann family presently has 2 saddlebreds in training, as well as one Hackney roadster pony which Don drives.
